AGENDA
Major to watch – Northern Star Resources
Make sure you grab your coffee and biscuits early and make your way to the Auditorium as seats are sure to be a hot commodity come 10.45am.
The first company presentation to kick-off the 2020 schedule is gold heavyweight Northern Star Resources and what a week it has been for the Bill Beament-led producer announcing a merger with Saracen Minerals.
The combined entities will create a top-10 global miner with a market cap of over $16 billion, supported by a tier-one asset portfolio headlined by the iconic Kalgoorlie Super Pit.
Junior to watch – Tietto Minerals / Mincor Resources / Azure Minerals
It has been an impressive 2020 for Tietto Minerals and its flagship, high-grade Abujar Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Company has attracted many supporters through its development of Abujar and with a Resource Update to be announced this month and a PFS due in Q1 2021, there will be a high-level of interest in the Company’s plans for the next 12 months.
Nickel is flying at the moment and with Mincor Resources pushing the button on development of the Kambalda Nickel Operations, the Auditorium will be itching to hear what boss David Southam has to say.
Azure Minerals could be a stock to watch on the open this morning.
The Company will resume trading after calling a halt on Friday ahead of some drilling results.
Given work just started on drilling at the newly acquired Andover nickel-copper project, a JV with Mark Creasy, one can only speculate they have come up with the goods.
We are not usually into giving stock tips, but there is some precedence in this space.
Estrella Resources rocketed 500% last week on some nickel results, Legend Mining doubled over the space of a week after releasing impressive nickel results, Poseidon Nickel jumped 50% after announcing massive sulphides and Centaurus Metals had a huge run after acquiring the Jaguar Nickel Project and announcing massive sulphides.
Managing Director Tony Rovira is not presenting this year but will be at the conference. If you would like to speak to Tony, keep your eyes out for the big line of punters in the marquee waiting to gain an update.
After hours:
The coronavirus pandemic didn’t deter at least some delegates from slipping on the steel-caps to get a bit dusty over the weekend ahead of Diggers & Dealers. While the number of site visits was clearly down on previous years visitors did enjoy touring Bellevue Gold on Friday and the Superpit on Saturday.
Pubs were doing a steady trade on Sunday night but expect a big influx of delegates on this morning’s early morning flights.
Monday is cocktail night with events including knees-ups hosted by Euroz-Hartleys, Canaccord and Macquarie.
TALKING POINTS
COVID-19 – When will the border open? What about a vaccine? How will the market and economy fair post-job keeper and job seeker?
Gold – Will it double next year or not?
US Election – Will Donald Trump get re-elected for another term? What impact will a Joe Biden win have on global equity markets?
PACKED TO THE RAFTERS
WA Premier Mark McGowan is sure to pull a crowd as this morning’s keynote speaker, but there is just one question on delegates’ lips – When will the borders come down? The Premier has been riding a wave of popularity for keeping West Australians safe during the pandemic but questions are now being asked about the reasons to keep WA locked in a bubble.
