Welcome back to Heard on Hannan Street for 2021

Written by Genevieve Norton

August 1, 2021

Is this a case of déjà vu or what? Two months ago anticipation for the 30th Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum was at fever pitch with Eastern Staters champing at the bit for a trip West and a bit of non-virtual conference normality.

And now Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide are in lockdown and Mark ‘Boomgates’ McGowan has bricked up the State border yet again.

Word is lots of potential delegates have had to pull out or are trying to fill spots and accommodation bookings with Perth-based colleagues or contacts.

Regardless, we can rely on the Diggers & Dealers team to provide a solid week of networking, wheeling and dealing. After all, they have delivered for the past 29 years, so they won’t let another lockdown get in their way.

For those people who are unable to attend due to international and NSW travel restrictions, the 55 corporate presentations lined up for the three days will be live streamed and a link placed on the Diggers & Dealers website.

The Conference will kick-off bright and early tomorrow morning with the keynote address from Professor Ian Goldin and it will be all ears given his early career in Africa, international experience and economic credentials. Professor Goldin is the Oxford University Professor of Globalisation Development and the founding Director for the Oxford Martin School. His CV is too long to list here, but check it out, you will be impressed.

Among the list of companies to present are the usual big names such as IGO, Northern Star Resources, Fortescue Metals Group, South32 and BHP Nickel West, as well as a host of juniors and up-and-coming developers.

Throughout the conference, stay tuned to Heard on Hannan Street for:

  • News, views, major themes and talking points from the day’s events
  • Conference and presentation highlights including thoughts and quotes from key executives and investment managers
  • Memorable moments from the (in)famous ‘Diggers’ hospitality

We hope you find Heard on Hannan Street a useful way to stay up to date with all the action in Kalgoorlie. And, for those of you attending, the Citadel-MAGNUS team will see you there!

Cheers,

Citadel-MAGNUS.
